Application scope

  • The PY191:1 TDS recommends PVC, polyolefins, PP fibre and rubber; PU and EPL are conditionally suitable. The document leaves EPL unexpanded, so confirm the intended polymer with DCC.
  • The TDS also lists offset, water-based and solvent-based printing inks, plus solvent-based and water-based paints. These are application categories for review, not an approval for every formulation.
  • The catalogue lists 1580P as P.Y.191:1 and separately lists 1579P as P.Y.191. Confirm the exact Colour Index identity and grade in the order and technical documents.

Documents and test conditions

Request the current TDS and SDS for the proposed grade and any available application test data. Confirm the supplied grade, document revision and suitability in your formulation before approval.

Published heat-resistance figures differ between the catalogue, Colour Studio and TDS, and the TDS does not state the resin, loading or exposure time behind its figure. No common processing-temperature limit is stated here. Ask for grade-specific test conditions and validate the colour in the intended process.
